You have the power to enjoy your life. It’s not people or circumstances that determine your happiness; it’s your attitude and thought process.

You may say to me “well, it’s not my fault that I struggle with depression and can’t get out of the house”. Or, “it’s not my fault that I have certain fears due to what happened to me when I was a child”. And I would agree with you that it is unfortunate that bad things happen in life sometimes, but you don’t have to get stuck there! You have the power to choose your thoughts and actions. You have the choice every morning to either get out of bed or stay in bed. You have the choice to allow the negative statements you heard growing up be the dominant voices in your head. Or you can make the courageous choice to put new positive statements in your head.

In my practice I see many people who feel stuck, and can tell me exactly why they are stuck and whose fault it is. Their stories are filled with heartache and pain, and I can appreciate why they feel the way they do. But the good news I like to leave with my clients is that they don’t have to stay that way. I love watching the “light-bulb” go on as they realize they can be in control of their life story. They do not have to stay a victim. They can come out victorious! The choice is theirs, and the choice is yours!
