Being a child, teen, or young adult is not easy. Being a parent to a child who is struggling can be just as hard.

I have a Masters in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology from the University of Guelph, where I also completed the majority of courses for a doctoral degree. I am in the process of registering with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) as a Psychological Associate. My services are supervised by Dr. Sharon Verniero who is a Registered Psychologist with CPO. We work together to assist you.

I provide services for three main areas:

Psychoeducational assessments and School-Related Difficulties

I will work with your child to understand what is making learning difficult and develop recommendations to help them succeed. I may work with the child, parent, or teacher to help implement strategies. I offer seven years of experience working as a psychoeducational consultant in school boards and private practice. This means I have knowledge of what makes learning easier for children with learning disabilities, ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities and other difficulties that impact learning. I also enjoy supporting teens and adults with the transition to college or university.

Together Dr. Verniero and I also provide a consultation service. If you have questions about your youngster, we can support you to decide what to do next. If a psychoeducational assessment is needed, we can transition into completing one through our assessment service..

Mental Health Services

Therapeutically, I strive to be a compassionate, non-judgmental, and creative therapist. In addition to my Masters, I completed two years of a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology where I gained experience using the psychotherapeutic relationship and evidence-based interventions to treat mental health conditions. I will work with you to carefully craft an intervention that addresses your specific challenges. I support youth with anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, stress and anger management, relationship difficulties and the various challenges that come with moving through developmental stages.

I also provide support for youth engaging in non-suicidal self-injury I do not work with youth with active suicidality.. There are so many reasons why a child may engage in self-injury and its my job to explore those reasons and provide alternative coping strategies. I spent four years researching self-injury and suicide during my graduate studies and gained specialized training and experience with Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

Parenting Support

I can offer you the knowledge of child development and behaviour management principals, but no one knows your child like you do. We can work collaboratively to devise a plan to support your child with whatever behaviour challenge they are experiencing – sleeping, eating, school avoidance, social challenges and more. It will take creativity, planning and commitment, but luckily that is exactly what I can offer you.

If any of the above fits what you are looking for, then I welcome you to reach out to our administrative team to set-up an initial appointment. I look forward to working with you.
